Every summer the Spark crew handles hundreds of pool installations! We are experienced in above-ground and in-ground pools. We are also VERY well versed in the ever-changing and hectic schedules of most local pool companies, so we make it as easy and painless to schedule us for your electrical connection!
Whether you are adding an above ground, or an inground, we have a technician specifically trained and experienced in grounding and wiring pools properly. The technicians we designate specifically to pool wiring are taught a refresher course at the beginning of each spring. We ensure our electricians are completely up-to-date on all of the local codes and standards
New Pool Installs
Equipotential Grounding Ring – It is imperative to install this correctly, when you mix water with electricity, hire a licensed and qualified electrician experienced in installing an intrinsically safe pool wiring system.
Pool Sub Panels – Some pools have multiple circuits for the pump, the heater, salt water controller, and specialty lighting, we have installed everything from a dedicated circuit to an inflatable pool to a fully custom pool with underwater lighting and illuminated water falls.
Power to the Pool – You need to get electricity from your home electrical panel to your pool. Even if your pool is hundreds of feet from the house, Spark has powerful specialty trenching equipment to cut a neat trench very quickly at a much lower cost to you than hiring a site company. We handle all of our digging in-house.
Pool Pumps – Our electricians know how to run your pump efficiently and through experience, we know what type of breakers (sometimes requiring specialty breakers) each specific brand of pump runs better with. Avoid those nuisance trips, you do not want your pool pump to shut off in the middle of your 4th of July cookout, just call Spark!
Wet Niche Fixtures – We understand what the pool company needs from us. We can run the conduit, ground the fixture, install the deck box, and wire the light. We have experience with both low voltage wet-niche fixtures and regular 120V immersed light fixtures.
Custom Lighting – We have installed patio lighting, color-changing lighting inside the pool, illuminated waterfalls, bug-repellent devices, smart switch controls, outdoor entertainment systems, outdoor TV brackets with receptacles, and custom-lighted pergolas. If you have an idea, call us!
Pool Troubleshooting
We can troubleshoot and repair all of the electrical components to your pool. We have experience determining if your pump needs replacing, or if there is something wrong with your wiring. We understand how most pools are wired, how timers work, as well as how and when to replace certain components in your pool’s electrical system. Although some repairs may require the assistance of an actual pool company, we can help facilitate passing along the information and informing your pool company of our findings.
Hot Tub & Spa Installations
Spark also installs hundreds of hot-tub circuits a year. Our technicians are very experienced in all of the special requirements of hot tub wiring. You can rest assured your spa will be safe and code compliant if Spark installs the wiring.
Our technicians are trained to walk you through our streamlined SAME DAY estimate & installation process! We come to your home, check the specifications of your hot tub, properly size the wire, circuit breaker, and GFCI disconnect, provide a written estimate on our tablets using our straightforward pricing, and install your hot-tub circuit on the spot!
Installation Scenarios – Hot tubs are sometimes accompanied by some challenging installation scenarios. You may be installing a patio for the hot tub, or installing the hot tub outside on a deck and would like all of the conduit and wiring to be hidden. We have experience in these types of installations and can work through any scenario and with any company to achieve the installation you want.
Hot Tub Troubleshoots – Sometimes hot tub breakers trip and technicians have a hard time pin-pointing the problem. Here at Spark, the technicians are not only trained to troubleshoot the wiring, but also to troubleshoot the hot-tub itself. By disconnecting certain sources on a hot-tub we are generally able to determine without a doubt whether it’s the hot tub that requires a repair or the home wiring.
