Backup Power For Businesses

Comfort - Security - Convenience

A permanently installed standby generator can protect your business when you need it the most. Usually running on liquid propane and natural gas it delivers power directly to your business’s electrical system. These generators often come with a special program enabling you to control the status of the generators via a phone, laptop or tablet.

How It Works

A Standby Generator, after being set up, senses a power outage and automatically comes to life. It delivers backup power to your business and continues to run until utility power is restored. In practical terms, the system works through a transfer switch—an intelligent component that constantly monitors the flow of electricity coming from the grid. The moment it detects an interruption or a dangerous drop in voltage, it isolates your home or business from the utility line to prevent back-feeding and signals the generator to start.

Once running, the generator begins supplying electricity to the circuits you’ve designated as essential, such as refrigeration, HVAC systems, lighting, servers, security equipment, or medical devices. Most standby generators run on natural gas or propane, which allows them to operate for long periods without manual refueling. Throughout the outage, the system maintains stable voltage and frequency so your appliances function normally and safely.

When the utility power returns, the transfer switch detects the restoration, shifts the electrical load back to the grid, and powers down the generator. This entire process is fully automatic, requiring no action from the homeowner. Modern systems also perform periodic self-tests to ensure they are ready at any moment, giving you uninterrupted protection during unexpected outages.

I had Spark upgrade my 100 amp service to a 200 amp service. They were very reasonable, prompt and friendly. Since then I had them install a water heater and my pool also. The installers name was Keith on all three installs he was professional and I highly recommend him! I will definitely use Spark Electrical again.

Excellent Service!!!!! I couldn't be happier with the service Spark Electrician Services provided! I tried installing a ceiling fan on my own (bad idea) so I needed an electrician. The 2 men that came to complete the job were professional and courteous and completed the work in an hour. They wore booties in the house which I appreciated as well. I will definitely be hiring Spark Electrician Services again in the very near future! They are also extremely reasonably priced compared to other electricians in the area!
